Renault is a division of the French multinational automaker Renault Group. The group's namesake, Renault can trace its routes back to the 19th century. It markets a range of affordable, though perhaps uninspiring, vehicles that have a positive reputation in France.

Before WW2, the company manufactured some iconic cars and, thanks to its more affordable positioning, became one of the most biggest French automakers. After the war, Renault continued to produce small and affordable vehicles that are popular in its domestic market but rather uncompetitive elsewhere.

In recent years, Renault has achieved some racing success.
