Product Overview

Renault Kadjar is a compact crossover in production from 2015. It is available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 1.6 liters.
A rather basic and ugly vehicle in its own right, the Kadjar is the sister model of the Nissan Qashqai, one of the ugliest crossovers on the market today. It is terrifying to look at from every single angle, which is an achievement.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Kadjar has been given a much-needed overhaul to the interior. The main change is to the dash fascia, which now features three rotary dials for the HVAC system. The second row is easily capacious enough for two adults to sit in relative comfort. The 527-litre boot is spacious enough, but if you bought a Volkswagen Tiguan you'd get 615 litres.
Pros
  • Powerful petrol engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of dynamic zest
  • No front-end grip

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 61% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Renault Kadjar is a stylish crossover that's based on the same platform as the Nissan Qashqai. It slots into the Renault range above the Captur and below the larger Koleos. A range of updates introduced towards the end of 2018 further increased the Kadjar's appeal. Its chief rivals are the SEAT Ateca Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson.
Pros
  • Cheap to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • No four-wheel drive
  • No automatic gearbox

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The facelifted Kadjar is just as practical as the pre-facelift model. The touchscreen is now slightly bigger, brighter and easier to use thanks to a design that's now flush with the centre console. There are also some new seat trims and an extendable seat base to boost comfort. The petrol engines are refined and very well-suited to the car.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard equipment
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Lacklustre gearbox
  • No automatic gearbox

carwow[4]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The Renault Kadjar looks a lot more imposing on the outside than a hatchback such as the VW Golf and Renault Megane. It comes with large alloy wheels, a smattering of chrome trim and plenty of contrasting black trim on the bumpers and wheel arches. You get plenty of seat and steering-wheel adjustment as standard and there's enough space for you to stretch out if you're tall. The boot's roomy enough for everyone's luggage and the flat boot floor makes it easy to slide in heavy luggage.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Fiddly infotainment system
  • A little noisy at motorway speeds

topgear[5]

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from topgear have found:
The seats are comfortable and the driving position offers adequate adjustment. There's more of a sense you're in a tall SUV than in a Qashqai, somehow. The rear seats fold to reveal a flat-silled1,478-litre boot – almost 1,000 litres bigger than that offered in five-seater mode. Front parking sensors appear up front, door mirrors fold electrically and there's a rear parking camera.
Pros
  • Decent off-road performance
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of refinement
  • Not the most practical
