History
Fujifilm is a Japanese multinational photography and imaging company. It focuses on the design, development, and manufacturing of industrial imaging equipment as well as photography products. In recent years, it has diversified into biotech and medical equipment industries.
History
Originally set up as a subsidiary of Daicel, a chemical company, in 1934 to produce photographic films, Fujifilm became one of the best known manufacturers of photographic, motion-picture, and x-ray films. In 1940s, the company started producing optics and lenses.
After WWII, Fuji diversified into medical imaging, printing, and electronic imaging. The photography, imaging, and medical businesses are organized under the umbrella of Fujifilm Corporation.
Current Products
Fujifilm continues to supply photographic films and photographic papers. In recent decades, it has become a major player in the digital camera industry. Its X-series APS-C cameras and G-series medium format cameras are loved by enthusiasts who praise them for their ergonomics and image quality. Instax- and Fotorama-series of instant cameras are also produced and marketed by Fujifilm.
Fujinon camera lenses and binoculars are produced by Fujifilm. These include some of the most popular television lenses in the world.
