Product Overview
Panasonic SC-HTB01 is a 2.1-channel all-in-one soundbar designed for gaming. In a very compact package suitable for use with not just TVs but computer monitors, it is an attempt to bring the soundbar form factor to the desktop market.
Despite being a 2.1-channel model with just five drivers, including the built-in subwoofer, the SC-HTB01 supports all major digital processing protocols such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. According to Panasonic, this compact speaker is able to create a virtual surround sound experience when gaming.
Beyond gaming, the SC-HTB01 makes for a small soundbar that is great for watching videos on computers and ultimately small TVs. It can also be used to stream music from smart devices via Bluetooth.

Reviewer score 77%The Panasonic SoundSlayer is a $100 gaming speaker that's priced about $100 too high. It can easily fill a room, or at least ensconce anyone sitting in front of it with a full, robust sound field. The small subwoofer driver doesn't have the size or space to really shake the walls, but it makes an admirable attempt. While the wide sound field of the speaker doesn't translate into a tactical advantage like good simulated surround, it still sounds very full.

Pros
- Powerful audio performance
- Large sound field
- Supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and DTS Virtual:X
Cons
- No analog audio connections

Reviewer score 76%Panasonic SC-HTB01 is small enough to sit comfortably below even modestly sized monitors, let alone TVs. It's capable of prodigious low-frequency presence, and is capable of making every explosion, every tread of an enormous mechanised foot, every flying scissors-kick punch far, far harder than the speakers in a monitor have any hope of doing. Remote control gives access to various sound modes including ‘standard', ‘music’ and ‘cinema’

Pros
- Impressive low-frequency performance
- Very compact and unobtrusive
Cons
- Subwoofer isn’t as powerful as you’d think
