History
Razer Inc. is an American gaming hardware manufacturer known for its premium peripherals and laptops that are designed for gamers. In recent years, Razer has entered the smartphone market and expanded to e-payment services.
History
Originally founded in 1998, Razer developed and marketed the high-end gaming mouse, the Boomslang. The company was refounded in 2005 after the co-founders procured the rights to the Razer brand. The company continued to manufacture high-end gaming peripherals and later started producing gaming laptops.
In 2016, Razer purchased THX from Creative Technology. The next year, it launched its first smartphone. In 2018, Razer entered the e-payment business.
Products
Targeting gamers, many Razer products are named after predators or venomous animals, ranging from snakes (mice), insects (mouse pads), and spiders (keyboards).
