LG Electronics Inc. is a South Korean multinational electronics company. Part of LG Corporation, it comprises five business units: Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Home Appliances & Air Solutions, Vehicle Solutions, and Business Solutions.

Founded in 1958 as GoldStar, the company provided the rebuilding nation with domestically-produced consumer electronics and home appliances, including Korea's first radios, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners.

Goldstar had a brethren company, Lak-Hui (Lucky) Chemical Industrial Corp, with which it merged to form Lucky-Goldstar, which eventually became LG.

LG Electronics is a major player in most consumer electronics segments. Notably, it is a leader in OLED televisions.
