BMW Group France announces the first winning duo of BMW ART MAKERS, its new patronage programme in the field of visual arts and contemporary image-making.
Artist Arash Hanaei and curator Morad Montazami have been named as winners of the BMW ART MAKERS programme. Following a call for applications, a shortlist was created by the jury members and the BMW ART MAKERS team, after which ten artist-curator duos were interviewed via video conference. “As winners of the 2022 BMW ART MAKERS programme, we are honoured by the trust placed in us to successfully create an innovative installation that proposes poetry and a visual policy that considers the spectator’s emancipation, in an era of image “capture”, big data and algorithmic warfare.” Arash Hanaei & Morad Montazami

MINI Italy supports the Biosphera Genesis housing module project as part of the MINI Voices campaign
The company specialises in the development of housing modules using the most advanced technologies in the world focusing on human well-being and reducing the environmental impact of the building construction processes. Mirko Taglietti, CEO of Aktivhaus and creator of the Biosphera Project, said: "Genesis is the fourth generation of the self-sufficient regenerative biophilic housing module which has already won the Energy Globe Award, the most coveted sustainability prize in the world. Biosphera Genesis, which was inaugurated on 8 September 2021 in Venice on the island of San Servolo, is the only housing module in the world to integrate Biophilic Design, an architectural design feature aimed at creating a favourable environment for human health.

Executive Personnel Change: Stefanie Wurst succeeds Bernd Körber as Head of MINI
The BMW Group announces a personnel change at the top of the MINI brand. Stefanie Wurst returned to Munich after being CEO BMW Group Nederland since September 2018. At the same time, the fully-electric MINI Cooper SE (combined power consumption: 17.6 – 15.2 kWh/100 km according to WLTP, CO2 emissions combined: 0 g/km) accounted for 21.5 percent of all new registrations of the MINI brand in the Netherlands in the past year.

BMW Group significantly increases use of low-carbon steel in series production at European plants
The BMW Group has now signed a corresponding agreement with Salzgitter AG for delivery of low-carbon steel. “This is an important step in substantially reducing CO2 emissions at source in the supplier network,” said Joachim Post, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Purchasing and Supplier Network. Agreements with two suppliers on low-carbon steel will meet over 40% of steel demand at European plants

Tough test: BMW M Team RLL finishes the challenging 24 Hours of Daytona with both MOTUL BMW M4 GT3s
The first 24 Hours of Daytona (USA) proved to be a tough test for the BMW M Motorsport teams and the new BMW M4 GT3. After a race full of challenges, BMW M Team RLL’s two MOTUL BMW M4 GT3s crossed the finish line in seventh and ninth places in the GTD-PRO class. The GTD car run by Turner Motorsport was unable to finish the race after contact, and both of BMW M Team RLL’s cars encountered problems and ended the race in seventh and ninth place.

BMW Group joins Leather Working Group – for responsible and sustainable leather sourcing
The BMW Group is underlining its corporate responsibility in the field of sustainability, by becoming the second automotive manufacturer worldwide to join the Leather Working Group. “As a leader in supply chain sustainability, joining the Leather Working Group is the next logical step for us,” says Nadine Philipp, BMW Group’s head of Sustainability in the Supply Chain, Energy. The decision to join the Leather Working Group ties in directly with the BMW Group’s business alignment, with its focus on sustainability and resource efficiency.

Big anniversary weekend: BMW M Motorsport celebrates 50 years of BMW M and the IMSA race debut of the BMW M4 GT3 at Daytona

Engraved with a unique QR code, these carbon fiber parts link the digital element, are a series of five photographs of a Lamborghini Ultimae, lifting off toward the stars. What may look like a computer-generated image is in fact entirely created from elements of the real world: the artist captured more than 1500 individual parts of a real car. At the start of the project, Oefner meticulously studied the engineering plans of the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae and created an accurate sketch of what the final photograph will look like.

The Rolls-Royce Art Programme Presents Sondra Perry’S Lineage For A Phantom Zone In Partnership With The Fondation Beyeler, February 2022
The newly commissioned work by artist Sondra Perry, sees Muse, the Rolls-Royce Art Programme’s inaugural award, the Dream Commission, come to fruition. On public view for the first time from 13 February - 13 March 2022 at Fondation Beyeler, Switzerland, Lineage for a Phantom Zone is a new immersive artwork which explores themes of lineage, memory and longing, using dreams as a space for reconfiguring history. The installation explores Perry’s personal history through the lens of dreams, highlighting her view of the erasure of Black history in the American South, and imagining the dream space as a passage to reach sites of heritage that are absent in reality.
