Product Overview
The 2021 Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 is a premium 16-inch laptop designed for business users. Powered by AMD Ryzen 5000-series CPUs and discrete NVIDIA RTX 30-series graphics, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 comes with a full set of I/O options while measuring under 0.8-inch thin.
Echoing Lenovo's choice to move to the 16:10 aspect ratio, the ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 comes with a WQXGA / 2.5K IPS panel that increases the viewing area by 11.45% compared to the 15.6-inch ThinkBook 15p from 2020 in a more compact chassis. This also entails over 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 is compatible with the new ThinkPad USB-C dock.
Alongside the ThinkBook 16p, Lenovo also introduced ThinkBook 13x, ThinkBook 14p Gen 2, and ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 at CES 2021.

notebookcheck[1]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ThinkBook 16p isn't marketed as a gaming laptop, but as a business laptop for creative professionals. It has good battery life, and it never gets annoyingly hot. The speakers reproduce mid and high tones in a balanced way, but bass reproduction is mediocre at best, as is often the case. You can also play games on the ThinkBook without any problems.
Pros
- Matte 16p display
- High refresh rate
- Good battery life
- Fast Wi-Fi
Cons
- No 4K display
