LG CX 4K OLED Smart TVs feature all the latest bells and whistles but retains the classic television form factor: Its Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI Processor offers improved processing power and AI deep learning capabilities. All models feature 120Hz refresh rate and support NVIDIA G-SYNC as well as AMD FreeSync for superior gaming performance.
These standard 4K OLED smart TVs share the same technical specifications and functionalities as the more posh Gallery-Design GX Series, Wallpaper WX Series, and Rollable RX Series.

Like all recent OLED sets, the CX was extremely uniform in brightness and color. Gaming input lag is similar to last year, which is to say superb. Parasite is a great movie that looks spectacular in 4K HDR.

Sony's A8H provides some strong competition, and I expect Vizio's OLED will also give LG a run for its money. The difference among these TVs will be minor and can only be seen when viewing multiple TVs side-by-side.

Its 120Hz refresh rate doesn't stack up to the ever-popular Samsung Odyssey G9 and its ability to produce 240 MHZ. Response time is still nearly instant thanks to low latency and HDR gaming is fantastic.

It has a 120Hz refresh rate, native FreeSync support, and a near-instant response time. The screen doesn't get bright enough to combat glare, but it has outstanding reflection handling.

Dolby Vision IQ combines the extra HDR picture information and screen optimisation elements of DolbyVision with an assessment of room conditions provided by a built-in light sensor. In its Game mode it only suffers with a puny 13ms of input lag. There's support for both automatic low latency mode switching and variable refresh rates.

The screen maintains all of the same individually small but cumulatively important enhancements. Colours are every bit as rich, vibrant, but also precise, balanced and consistent across the screen as those of the bigger CX models. Viewing angles are as typically excellent as you’d expect from OLED.

Motion is handled well – vastly better than it was by last year's LG OLEDs – but Sony still has the upper hand here, as a comparison with the KD-55A8 proves.

Super bright reds, greens, and blues juxtapose themselves alongside insanely realistic shadows. The CX is one model where it might be worthwhile to buy a 4K Blu-ray player.
