Product Overview

LG GX series 4K OLED smart TVs now feature the new Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI Processor for improved processing power and AI deep learning algorithms.
The 55", 65", and 77" models are extremely thin and can hang flush against the wall. Hence, the GX series smart TVs are specifically designed for wall mount, transforming the OLED panel into an art frame. The GX series models join the WX Wallpaper series and LG SIGNATURE OLED R (65RX) to provide spectacular space integration.
They also feature 120Hz refresh rate and support NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync for superior gaming performance.
The GX Series share the same technical specifications and functionalities as the Wallpaper (WX) Series, the Rollable RX Series, and CX Series.

    Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
LG's Gallery Series GX OLED begs a premium, but the added investment is returned in the form of gorgeous design, a slick wall mount system, and improved user experience. Outfitted with full-spec HDMI 2.1 ports and every available gamer-friendly feature, LG's 2020 OLEDs make a compelling case for gamers looking for a large-format display.
    Pros
    • Gorgeous design
    • Excellent HDR picture quality
    • Huge wall mount system
    Cons
    • No HDR 4K support
    • No hands-free voice control

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG GX OLED is an incredible TV for watching movies. It has a nearly infinite contrast ratio and perfect black uniformity. Gamers should enjoy the 120Hz refresh rate, VRR support, near-instant response time, and low input lag. Unfortunately, it has the risk of permanent burn-in, so it's not ideal to use as a PC monitor.
    Pros
    • Outstanding reflection handling
    • Wide viewing angles
    • Near-instant response time
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • Can't remove 24p judder from any source
    • Doesn't get bright enough to combat glare in well-lit environments

    Reviewers from t3 have found:
The GX Gallery OLED series is an impressive achievement. Its cosmetic design is top notch, and overall image quality is similarly accomplished. The execution of AI image processing is subtle and effective, although HD upscaling can't really claim an edge over rivals. The absence of Freeview Play, with zero UK catch-up players, is more of an issue.
    Pros
    • Top-notch image quality
    • Dolby Atmos support
    • AI Sound Pro
    Cons
    • No Freeview Play
    • No UK catch-up TV apps

The 65in OLED65GX reviewed here sells for £3,199. It's available in 55- and 65in screen sizes priced at £2,099 and £5,999 respectively. In the US where it's the 'GXPUA', the TV starts at $2,499 and the model tested here is $3,499 - although LG has them reduced at the time of writing.
    Pros
    • Fantastic picture quality
    • Dolby Vision IQ
    Cons
    • No Dolby Atmos or HDR10+
    • No HDMI 4.1

    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The LG Gallery Series brings a new definition to the term flatscreen. At $2,499/£2,099 for just a 55-inch screen, it's easily one of the most expensive OLED TVs out there. It's not that the Gallery Series' sound quality is the worst we've ever heard, but it's nothing to write home about.
    Pros
    • Beautiful picture-on-wall design
    • Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos
    • Built-in speakers
    Cons
    • Poor sound quality
    • No Dolby Vision

    Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The LG GX OLED is one of the best gaming TVs you can buy, especially if you want the luxurious design. LG's webOS smart TV software is arguably the best on the market. While the GX's sound is powerful compared to the larger TV category, consider investing in the matching soundbar.
    Pros
    • Sleek, premium design
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ support
    Cons
    • Lack of backlight buttons

LG’s Alpha 9 Gen 3 image processor does a phenomenal job on both HD and 4K content sources. Pictures look positively sumptuous, with superb contrast, excellent near black detail and lush colour fidelity. Game performance is creditable, with an input lag of just 13.2ms (1080/60), when in Game mode.
    Pros
    • Impressive picture quality
    • Dolby Vision IQ
    • Excellent HDR performance
    Cons
    • No Dolby Vision or HDR10+
    • No built-in wall-mount

    whathifi[8]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The OLED65GX represents a strong start for LG's 2020 OLED TVs. Its 2019 models were exemplary, and the company has managed to improve picture quality in a few key areas. Even in 2020, one can't live off 4K alone, so it's reassuring to know that the GX's Full HD performance is also strong. Few TVs are better suited to being wall-mounted, and if wall-mounting isn't your plan, we wouldn't recommend the set.
    Pros
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Impressive motion handling
    Cons
    • No wall-mounting
    • No Dolby Atmos
