Product Overview

Audi A3 established the premium compact class in 1996. The 4th-generation Audi A3 incorporates new design and efficiency technologies and features that make it a compelling offer:
On the outside, Audi has given the new A3 Sportback the latest LED lighting solutions that bestow an intensely modern feel. Inside, the use of quality materials, including seat upholstery made of recycled PET bottles and adorned with contrast stitching completes the tech-filled aura that Audi strives for.
The infotainment system is more connected than ever, with broad range of support for digital media and applications. Via the Audi connect key, owners can lock and unlock their vehicle and start the engine with their Android smartphone and Amazon Alexa.
The 4th-gen Audi A3 Sportback also features more efficient engines coupled with Audi's proven 7-speed S-tronic double clutch transmission or a 6-speed manual. These drivetrains cut down emissions while retaining the performance that Audi owners have come to expect.

autocar[1]

Sentiment Score 50%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The A3 looks smart, has a practical interior, offers decent performance and manages stable, secure dynamics. The 2.0-litre engine isn’t RDE2-compliant, so it gets slapped with a 4% benefit-in-kind surcharge when diesel versions of the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class don't. But there’s enough to like about the A3 to make it recommendable.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Decent practicality
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Diesel engine isn’t the best

autocar[2]

Sentiment Score 76%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The 40 TFSIe Sportback is a plug-in hybrid and has a 1.4-litre petrol engine producing 148bhp. An electric motor adds an additional 107bhp and 243lb ft. The 0-62mph sprint takes 7.6sec, so not quite up there with the Mercedes-Benz A250e. A truer Audi rival to the Stuttgart car will arrive next year.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Powerful petrol engine
  • Powerful diesel engine
Cons
  • Ride quality could be better
  • Some road noise

autoexpress[3]

Sentiment Score 70%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
From launch, one of the more popular options is likely to be the car driven here, the 35 TFSI. It uses the VW Group's 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, developing 148bhp and 250Nm torque. As ever, a sporty S3 version is also available, and an RS 3 with a five-cylinder engine will arrive in 2021.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Lack of hybrid assistance

autoexpress[4]

Sentiment Score 60%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The A3 PHEV uses well known VW Group technology. At its heart is a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 148bhp, and an electric motor contributes a further 107bhp. The total system power is rated at 201bhp and 350Nm of torque – enough for 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Powerful hybrid powertrain
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent tech
Cons
  • Slightly stiff ride
  • Not the best on UK roads

autoexpress[5]

Sentiment Score 56%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
All engines in the Audi A3 range are four-cylinder turbocharged units. Performance is strong across the range, with only a handful of models unable to complete the 0-62mph sprint in less than 10 seconds. The S3 is better, possibly because your expectations are set lower to begin with, but it can do 90 per cent of what the RS 3 can do for significantly less cash. We'd still opt for a VW Golf R, however.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Excellent ride quality
Cons
  • Engine rattles under acceleration
  • Not as fun to drive as rivals

carmagazine[6]

Sentiment Score 66%
Reviewers from carmagazine have found the following***:
The TFSIe 40 is a plug-in hybrid version of Audi's popular and premium A3. It has a 1.4-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. Official electric range is 40 miles, but take that with a pinch of salt. Infotainment is brilliant, and comes with a 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch screen. But the loss of boot space really hampers everyday practicality.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Fun to drive
  • Excellent infotainment
  • Good range
Cons
  • Lack of practicality
  • Pricier than other A3s

carwow[7]

Sentiment Score 84%
Reviewers from carwow have found the following***:
Lamborghini-inspired design, super-advanced tech, and a luxury interior. Its traditional alternatives are the BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-Class. But the A3 actually shares plenty of parts with the new VW Golf, SEAT Leon and Skoda Octavia. It won the Best Family Car award in the 2021 carwow Car of the Year Awards.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Sporty interior
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Some materials don’t feel supercar-posh

hifinews[8]

Sentiment Score 88%
Reviewers from hifinews have found the following***:
The Meitner MA3 is one of the finest DACs at its price. It offers a taste of the best high-end designs in a slightly slightly opulent and flexible package. The DAC is great at tracking the dynamics of a recording, too. The vocals on 'Wake Up' sounded expressive and lucid.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Impressive detail and dynamic articulation
  • Great value for money
Cons
  • Digital audio can sound closed-in
