Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from cameralabs have found:
The EOS 90D becomes Canon’s most powerful mid-range DSLR to date. It inherits the body, side-hinged screen, optical viewfinder and 45-point autofocus of the earlier 80D, while upgrading the sensor resolution to 32.5 Megapixels. It also offers uncropped 4k video at 25 or 30p, faster burst shooting of 10fps, and reinstating the AF joystick which went missing on the three previous models.
    Pros
    • High resolution APSC sensor
    • Improved autofocus
    • Faster burst shooting
    Cons
    • No built-in stabilisation
    • No 4k video

    digitalpicture[2]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from digitalpicture have found:
The Canon EOS 90D is a great general-purpose camera. Few are going to find a reason (other than price) to go with the 80D over the 90D. The EOS 7D Mark II, akin to a baby EOS-1D X, has been a very popular model. If you are interested in upgrading to a more feature-filled camera or adding an additional camera to your kit, if you are a first-time DSLR buyer, the camera is worthy of consideration.
    Pros
    • Excellent build quality
    • Excellent autofocus
    • Excellent battery life
    Cons
    • Pricey compared to predecessor model

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Canon EOS 90D is one of the best crop sensor DSLRs on the market. It offers excellent speed, solid autofocus, and uncropped 4K wrapped in a comfortable body. The EOS M6 Mark II offers the same sensor and processor for identical image quality from a lighter body.
    Pros
    • Fast burst rate
    • Excellent autofocus
    • Excellent battery life
    Cons
    • No built-in viewfinder

    Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Canon EOS 90D is the first SLR release aimed at serious photographers in a good two years. Video options aren't at all robust, but they're the best Canon has put into this class of camera. The camera focuses better than other SLRs when recording movies, but it's absolutely no match for mirrorless models in this price range.
    Pros
    • Excellent image quality
    • Excellent autofocus
    • Built-in EVF
    Cons
    • No in-body stabilization
    • Limited video options

    rtings[5]

Reviewer score 47% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Canon 90D is decent for travel photography. Images are detailed and fairly low in graininess as you increase camera ISO. Some users may notice a decrease in sharpness at high ISO levels. Video quality in 4k is sharp and clear, though it performs slightly worse in FHD.
    Pros
    • Good overall image quality
    • Good autofocus system
    • Decently high maximum shooting speed
    • Well-built, weather-sealed construction
    Cons
    • Bulky design
    • Image sharpness decreases at high ISO levels

    Reviewers from t3 have found:
Canon EOS 90D's APS-C sensor combined with a Digic 8 processor. Dual Pixel CMOS AF like the rest of Canon's current DSLR range. Can shoot 4K ‘movies' with no crop this time around at 30fps or 25fps. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, plus much improved 1300 shot battery life.
    Pros
    • Excellent image quality
    • Compact and light
    • Good battery life
    Cons
    • Chunky on/off switch
    • Touch screen LCD

    techradar[7]

    Reviewers from techradar have found:
Canon's latest Digic 8 image processor gives the 90D a major performance boost over the 80D and its Digic 6 engine. New 220,000-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor adds face detection when using the camera's viewfinder. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to connect the camera to a smartphone for quick and easy download of images.
    Pros
    • Top-notch image quality
    • Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus
    • Excellent battery life
    Cons
    • Nothing in particular

    tomsguide[8]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The 90D offers a range of video options, including the new 4K video, which shoots footage uncropped. Image quality is decent but not award-winning. It's great to have a built-in flash but when you need it the most — in very low light — it takes a little longer than we'd like to recycle.
    Pros
    • Long battery life
    • Good image quality
    • Built-in flash
    Cons
    • Slow autofocus
    • No in-body stabilization
    • Single card slot

    trustedreviews[9]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The 90D uses a different kind of focusing depending on how you’re shooting (via the viewfinder or with the screen) In good light, detail is fantastic, with that 32 megapixel sensor really being useful for capturing fine detail. There is a downside to having such a high resolution sensor – especially when it is found inside a body without optical image stabilisation. Uncropped 4K footage is a welcome addition to this model.
    Pros
    • Fantastic image quality
    • New metering system
    • Good battery life
    Cons
    • No optical image stabilisation
