SIGMA Rolls Out November Firmware Updates for EF, E, and L mount Lenses
SIGMA has released firmware updates for a number of lenses on the EF-, E-, and L-mount as well as the MC11 EF-E mount converter. Most that receive updates are EF-mount lenses, which will enjoy improved compatibility with the new Canon EOS 90D and EOS-1D X Mark III cameras.
EF-Mount Lenses
Six SIGMA EF-mount lenses receive firmware updates this month:
SIGMA 12-24mm F4 DG HSM | Art, 24-35mm F2 DG HSM | Art, 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art, 60-600mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports, and SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art in Canon EF-mount get improved exposure during viewfinder shooting on Canon EOS 90D and 1DX Mark III.
SIGMA 50-100mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art in Canon EF-mount gets improved exposure during viewfinder shooting on Canon EOS 90D.
The operating sound of the lens diaphragm blades in SIGMA 24-35mm F2 DG HSM | Art and 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art in Canon EF-mount is reduced when shooting movies.
When using these lenses with the MC-11 EF-E mount adapter, it is necessary to update the MC-11 to the latest firmware to ensure compatibility.
E-Mount Lens
One SIGMA E-mount lens receives firmware update this month:
SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary in Sony E-mount gets improved manual focus.
L-Mount Lens
One SIGMA L-mount lens receives firmware update this month:
SIGMA 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art in Leica L-mount becomes compatible with focus ring adjustment. It also gets improved aperture operation and AF tracking in movie shooting. Autofocus performance when shooting a distant subject is also improved.
