Product Overview

LG QNED 99 is the flagship 8K mini-LED TV in LG's 2021 LCD lineup. It retains all the advantages of NanoCell technology and adds Quantum Dot technology and Mini LED backlighting on top, creating extraordinary contrast, dynamic range, and color reproduction.
The NanoCell technology features nanoparticle filter that modifies the RGB wavelengths to produce richer, more realistic colors, while the Quantum Dot technology uses quantum dots to produce RGB backlighting. By combining the two with Mini LED full-array backlighting, the QNED panel is able to offer the best picture quality available in any LCD on the market today.
Additional benefits of the QNED technology include slim profile and minimal bezels.
Now more than ever, LG is pushing for pushing its smart TVs for productivity and gaming. The QNED MiniLED 99 supports G-Sync and FreeSync Premium from the get go and drives its gorgeous panel at 120Hz native refresh rate. There is also a planned update in late 2021 to make this TV compatible with Stadia cloud gaming.
Below the QNED 99, LG has also introduced several other models using this technology at CES 2021.

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG QNED99 is very good for watching TV shows or sports in a bright room. It's good for dark room viewing as the full-array local dimming feature helps it display deep blacks. It has a quick response time and low input lag, but it doesn't support FreeSync or G-SYNC. Sadly, our unit has uniformity issues, so there are dark areas when displaying a web page.
    Pros
    • Wide viewing angles
    • Great peak brightness
    • Good reflection handling
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • Blooming around bright objects
    • Mediocre black uniformity
    • No FreeSync or G-SYNC support

LG's webOS operating system remains intuitive and simple to navigate. The QNED 99's remote is an updated version of LG's Magic Remote. The TV connects to LG's ThinQ smart ecosystem, so you can use the remote to control or check the status of other LG home appliances.
    Pros
    • Satisfyingly high brightness and color accuracy
    • Good audio system
    • Excellent remote control
    Cons
    • Doesn’t get ear-squeezingly loud

    Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
Some parts of the picture go completely and unnaturally ‘full black’, losing detail in the process. The 75QNED99’s in many ways ground-breaking pictures are joined by a typically assured LG audio performance. The speakers deliver an impressively large sound stage that spreads comfortably beyond the side and top edges of the screen.
    Pros
    • Gorgeous picture quality
    • Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ support
    • Impressive motion and upscaling
    Cons
    • Backlight blooming
    • No Dolby Vision support
