Product Overview

Samsung QN800A Neo QLED 8K TV is part of Samsung's new Neo QLED lineup. Like the QN900A, it enjoys Quantum Mini LED backlight controlled by Quantum Matrix and Neo Quantum Processor to offer even higher dynamic range and richer color reproduction.
Samsung's Quantum Mini LED measures just 1/40th of the height of a conventional LED. Rather than using a lens to disperse light, it simply packs a large number of Mini LEDs in the backlight matrix. The result is dramatically finer control. Combined with 12-bit, 4096-step luminance control, Neo QLED elevates the HDR experience to a new level.
Compared to the flagship QN900A, the QN800A is marginally larger, with ever-so-slightly wider bezels. Its HDR rating is also lower (Quantum HDR 32x rather than Quantum HDR 48x or 64x). Still, the QN800A retains the attachable Slim One Connect box that holds all the connections for a sleek look.
Like flagship QLED TVs of the past, the QN900A enjoys 100% DCI-P3 coverage, anti-reflection coating, and ultra-wide viewing angle. It further adds 70W 4.2.2-channel audio system, reducing the need of a sound bar.
Alongside the QN800A, Samsung also introduced at CES 2021 the 8K flagship QN900A as well as the 4K QN90A and QN80A in the 2021 Neo QLED lineup.

    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Samsung Neo QN800 QLED is part of Samsung's plan to make massive 8K television purchases the norm among early adopters in 2021. We got to see the 75-inch version of this 8K TV in person ahead of CES 2021 and can attest that this TV set is big, bright and beautiful. It was hard to look away at the native 8K resolution video loop. A lot of this praise comes down to the brighter display care of Samsung shrinking down the LEDs to 1/40th their traditional size.
    Pros
    • Big, bright and beautiful
    • Slim design
    • Great HDR performance
    Cons
    • No bezel-less look
    • No HDR support
