Product Overview

The 2021 Lenovo Legion 7 is a flagship 16-inch gaming laptop powered by up to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series graphics. It features 16:10 aspect ratio that delivers a larger viewing area while making the new Legion 7 more compact than 15-inch Legion models from 2020.
Like the updated Legion 5 Pro, the new Legion 7 is fronted with a WQXGA IPS display that delivers 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 100% sRGB coverage, and DisplayHDR 400 compatibility. It also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC for tear-free gaming.
At the same time, the Legion 7 is considerably thinner than the Legion 5 Pro, despite driving more powerful CPU and GPU combinations. Lenovo also exclusively endows the Legion 7 with Corsair's iCUE RGB keyboard.
Like other 2021 Legion gaming laptops, the Legion sports Nahimic 3D Audio by SteelSeries, which improves upon the previous Harmon speakers for a more engaging listening experience, as well as a new Stingray White color.
Other Legion models unveiled at CES 2021 include the redesigned 15" Legion 5, 17" Legion 5, 16" Legion 5 Pro, and 15" Legion Slim 7. All models are powered by AMD. The Intel-powered models are introduced later in May 2021.

The Vega 8 graphics core integrated into the processor is disabled by default, but it's possible to turn it on. The laptop brings all the latest games smoothly onto the screen. The stereo speakers produce a very decent sound that could use a bit more bass. The Legion 7 does what it's supposed to do: It brings all modern games smoothly.
Pros
  • Matte 16:10 IPS display
  • Good color reproduction
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No G-Sync
  • Throttling under load

The Lenovo Legion 7 Gen 6 is an excellent high-end gaming laptop in both AMD and Intel guise. Top-notch quality, comfortable input devices, and ample connectivity are but a few of its many upsides. In a clear win for the AMD Legion, it more than doubled the battery life of the Intel model.
Pros
  • Top-notch gaming performance
  • Comfortable input devices
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Lacks G-Sync support
  • No Thunderbolt 4
