Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6
2-in-1Product Gallery
Product Overview
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 is the 2021 iteration of Lenovo's high-end 2-in-1 convertible business laptop. It now sports a new 16:10 aspect ratio with low blue light feature and is powered by 11th-gen Intel Core processors.
Thanks to the return to the 16:10 form factor, the new ThinkPad X1 Yoga offers a larger display area compared to the Gen 5 model while being more compact. With Intel's 11th-gen processors, the X1 Yoga Gen 6 also brings Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4.0 ports with even faster connectivity compared to Thunderbolt 3.
With a larger battery and improved cooling, the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 is geared towards high-performance tasks on the go. This is aided by the optional 5G WWAN.
While these updates are shared with the clamshell X1 Carbon Gen 9, the X1 Yoga Gen 6 uniquely offers a more versatile form factor that includes an integrated digitizer. While the Carbon has a carbon fiber chassis, however, the Yoga makes do with an aluminum one.
Alongside the new X1 Yoga and X1 Carbon, Lenovo also introduced two new models in the ThinkPad X1 lineup at CES 2021, the X1 Titanium Yoga and the X12 Detachable.

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)The X1 Yoga has always delivered a full day of battery life, but the 6th Gen model is the first to stay powered deep into a second day of use. Lenovo only partly addressed the pains of working remotely by using four far-field microphones with Dolby Voice. The 720p camera failed to capture facial details in a selfie I snapped.
Pros
- Slim, lightweight design
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent webcam
Cons
- Poor webcam quality
- No SD card slot
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)The new ThinkPad X1 Yoga G6 is Lenovo's best business convertible. The performance is very good, the case is excellent and the matte 16:10 touchscreen also leaves a good impression. There are also drawbacks, including the performance drops when you play games and there is no SD-card reader.
Pros
- High-quality aluminum chassis
- Matte 16:10 panel
- Long battery runtime
Cons
- No SD card reader
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)The X1 Yoga's 12 hours and 17 minutes is respectable stamina for a 14-inch-screen convertible. The Latitude 7420 2-in-1 and the EliteBook x360 1040 G8 command about the same. The X1 Titanium Yoga, on the other hand, uses a lower-wattage Core i7.
Pros
- Sleek, premium design
- Full HD screen
- Excellent battery life
- Good keyboard backlighting
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
techradar[4]
Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is Lenovo's flagship 2-in-1 for a reason. It consistently outperforms others in its class overall, and where it falls behind in one category or another, it isn't by much. Its strongest competition is the Envy x360 15, which really shines in multicore performance. It also comes with a discrete fingerprint scanner built into the power button.
Pros
- Sleek, lightweight design
- Excellent performance
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No SD card slot
- No IR camera
theverge[5]
Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The X1 Yoga's 16:10 aspect ratio is certainly a bonus, as are the lack of bloatware and the matte display. With so many add-ons and configurations, and prices ranging from $1,500 to over $3,000, the ThinkPad X1 yoga can really be what you make it.
Pros
- Stunning 16:10 display
- High-quality build quality
- Haptic touchpad and haptic touchpad
Cons
- No bloatware
- No Thunderbolt 3
tomshardware[6]

Pros
- Powerful Intel Core i5 CPU
- Excellent battery life
- Stylus included
