Product Overview

The Q70T is another volume-seller in Samsung's 2020 QLED 4K smart TV lineup. Marginally cheaper than the Q80T, the Q70T uses traditional edge LED lighting and thus offers lower HDR capabilities. Its speakers are also less sophisticated.
Still, Samsung has given the Q70T all other features that can be found in more expensive models. For an even less expensive alternative, Samsung also markets the Q60T.
Samsung also markets the Q75T in select markets, though it only differs from the Q70T in color (Silver vs. Black).

Reviewer score 50% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung Q70T is a decent TV for a variety of uses. Its high contrast ratio and remarkable black uniformity deliver good dark room performance. It's not ideal for watch TV or sports with large groups because it has poor viewing angles. Sadly, its HDR experience is a little underwhelming because it can't get bright enough to make highlights pop.
    Pros
    • High contrast ratio and remarkable black uniformity
    • Decent reflection handling
    • Good visibility in bright rooms
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • Poor viewing angles
    • No local dimming
    • Mediocre response time

    t3[2]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Q70T is built upon Samsung's robust Tizen platform. The set's everyday content appeal is high, with colours that are vibrant in a crowd-pleasing right way. Motion handling is also top notch, useful for both fast-moving actions sequences as well as general sports coverage. With Game Motion Plus engaged, input lag is recorded at 19.8ms.
    Pros
    • Bright, vibrant 4K HDR
    • Excellent gaming performance
    • Good value for money
    Cons
    • No Dolby Vision support
    • Limited sound system

    techadvisor[3]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
The Q70T uses the same 4K AI-enhanced Quantum image processor seen higher up the range. Mobile Multi-View with Casting allows you to watch two screens, namely the TV image and your smartphone, simultaneously on the screen. The set is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as Samsung's own Bixby. It's particularly appealing for gamers eager to partner a next-gen console.
    Pros
    • Excellent 4K picture quality
    • Impressive HDR performance
    Cons
    • No local dimming
    • No Dolby Vision support

    techradar[4]

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Samsung Q70T is a 4K TV with Dolby Vision and HDR support. It's edge-lit, unlike its QLED superiors which offer a direct full array with local dimming. Auto Motion Handling image interpolation is top notch. It does a cracking job of enhancing picture sharpness according to content. When it comes to gaming, the screen is a star performer.
    Pros
    • Top-notch image interpolation
    • Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support
    • Excellent low input lag
    Cons
    • Lacks Dolby Vision support

    tomsguide[5]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Q70T runs the same Tizen platform as other Samsung QLEDs. Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu and Apple TV come preinstalled. You can add Disney+, HBO Max and most other popular services including live TV such as Sling and YouTube TV. The 2020 version of the Q70 has 20 watts of power — half the amount of the 2019 model.
    Pros
    • Bright, vivid colors
    • Easy to set up
    • SmartThings integration
    Cons
    • Lacks bass
    • No Dolby Atmos
