Product Overview
The Q90T is Samsung's flagship 4K QLED smart TV in 2020. With Direct Full-Array 20X backlighting, Quantum Processor 4K, and Quantum HDR 16X, the Q90T represents the best that Samsung has to offer in 4K.
For a more affordable alternative, Samsung also offers the Q80T, which has less sophisticated full-array LED backlighting but is otherwise the same.

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)90T's black levels are the best I've seen outside of Samsung's own higher-end models. Brightness is more than sufficient. Samsung does tend to over-brighten the picture, especially in HDR modes. It's no small deal that Samsung is making such premium picture quality available for a considerably lower price than last year.

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Q90T is an excellent TV for most uses. Nearly every type of content looks good, whether it's a low-resolution cable TV show or a 4k HDR movie. It has a fast response time and low input lag, and it also comes with FreeSync support to reduce screen tearing when gaming. However, there's a bit of dirty screen effect, which can be somewhat distracting when watching sports.

Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Q90T's picture is a mild improvement over last year's Q90R. Samsung has backed off just a hair on the default sharpness and contrast. Motion smoothing is stronger by default, and there's no lag before it kicks in. Sound is quite good, although I liked the results with my additional tweaking.

FALD panels enable better contrast thanks to a number of LED zones that can be turned on and off individually. It offers five different picture modes – Dynamic, Normal, Natural, Movie and Filmmaker Mode – and the difference between Dynamic and Movie could very well be over 700 nits.

The Samsung generates very deep, but plentifully detailed, black tones and can keep them potent even when they share the scene with bright, clean (and equally detailed) white tones. Despite the so-so number of dimming zones, the Q90T’s backlighting control is deeply impressive.

But, on occasion, the Samsung's colours also look a little exaggerated. Samsung has taken a big step forward in terms of motion processing this year.
