The A6 is born for straight and true highways. But what about on the pockmarked British B-road? There’s plenty of opportunity to find out in the bucolic Surrey Hills. The supple ride from the adaptive air suspension contributes to the calm. The eight-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox is a marvel once moving.

All-new fifth-generation model bundles all the tech, refinement and luxury of the saloon into a more family-friendly estate body. Two trim levels will make up the A6 Avant range in the UK: Sport and S-Line. The 2.0-litre motor is well isolated from the cabin, delivering adequate performance for a family car.
