autocar[1]
Reviewer score 99%Despite the 2273kg kerb weight, it’s a Continental – a car so popular it has been responsible for more than half of the 200,000 cars that Bentley has made in its entire history. It has a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine in its nose, driving to all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with adaptive dampers and air springs.

Pros
- Powerful engine
- Impressive agility
Cons
- Not the fastest
- Not the most fun to drive
autocar[2]
Reviewer score 73%Bentley’s W12 engine feels as potent in this 650bhp state of tune as you’d hope it would, albeit still a bit lazy and boosty in its delivery at times. Both coupé and convertible are near enough identical cars to interact with at a simpler level. Even in their sportiest drive modes, neither troubles you with much weight or tactile feedback through the steering.

Pros
- New-found handling dynamism
- Comfortable to drive
Cons
- Not the most exciting engine
- Lacklustre engine
autocar[3]
Reviewer score 88%With 542bhp, it’s usefully more powerful than even the 521bhp ‘S’ version of the old Continental GT. It is also 50kg lighter than the W12, all removed from the nose, which means their power-to-weight ratios are separated by little more than 30bhp per tonne. The suspension of the V8 has been tweaked, but only tuned to match the change in weight and distribution.

Pros
- Best-handling Bentley on the market
- Powerful V8
- Comfortable to drive
Cons
- More expensive than the W12
autocar[4]
Reviewer score 81%Bentley’s take on the original concept: an expensive and exclusive luxury car (which is the Grand) designed for doing enormous distances without apparent strain. To that end it deploys the aforementioned 4-litre, twin turbo V8, taking it with a 542bhp power output. The engine removes a useful 50kg from the nose of the Continental GT.

Pros
- Powerful engine
- Comfortable to drive
- Excellent handling
Cons
- Lack of analogue dials
autocar[5]
Reviewer score 60%The Continental is priced from £159,100, but our car comes to a costly sum of £208,765 taking into account £49,665 of options. We have a handful of so-called ‘specifications’ Touring (£6195) gives you features such as lane assist and adaptive cruise control. City (£3960) includes a top-view camera, reverse traffic warning and handsfree boot opening. Mood Lighting (£1490) does what it says on the tin.

Pros
- Expansive interior
- Powerful engine
Cons
- Not as sporty as a Rolls
- No automatic gearbox
autoexpress[6]
Reviewer score 82%First generation Continental GT arrived in 2003, and a revised version arrived in 2011. The new version sits on a platform shared with the Porsche Panamera. The Continental GT is available with two engines: a 6.0 W12 and a 4.0-litre V8. There's also a Continental GT Convertible, boasting a fabric roof that can fold in just 19 seconds.

Pros
- Gorgeous interior
- Fantastic infotainment system
Cons
- Lacklustre handling
autoexpress[7]
Reviewer score 85%Under the skin, this new Continental has much in common with the latest Porsche Panamera. Almost every part has been honed to suit the latest British bruiser. Under the bonnet, the GT is still powered by a huge 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12. It feels as quiet at 70mph as the firm's flagship Mulsanne EWB.

Pros
- Comfortable to drive
- Superb infotainment system
- Impressive handling
Cons
- Interior isn’t as refined as it should be
- Sport mode feels compromised
autoexpress[8]
Reviewer score 89%At £151,800, it's still far from cheap, but it becomes the entry point to the Continental line-up. Despite the smaller capacity and lower cylinder count, the new GT V8 is still an outrageously quick car. Bentley claims that it will do 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds – only 0.2 second behind the W12 model.

Pros
- Gorgeous interior
- Impressive handling
Cons
- Lacklustre engine
- Lack of refinement
autoexpress[9]
Reviewer score 92%For the first time on a production Bentley, there's an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD ) at the rear. The adaptive air suspension has been retuned in conjunction with the 48-volt active anti-roll set-up. The 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine now produces 650bhp alongside its 900Nm of torque.

Pros
- Gorgeous interior
- Powerful engine
- Comfortable to drive
Cons
- Not the most fun to drive
carmagazine[10]
Reviewer score 86%The GTC Speed gets the styling tweaks outlined above, plus the Mulliner pack (quilted hide seats, three-spoke multi-function wheel, knurled chrome gear lever) That comes at extra cost on the plain Jane model. Fettling that 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 (two narrow angle V6s on a common crank) doesn't come cheap. Factor in the suspension upgrade and, what the hell, it's £10k well spent.

Pros
- Gorgeous looks
- Impressive low-speed manners
- Superb infotainment system
Cons
- Not the most fun to drive
- Seat backs are too firm
carmagazine[11]
Reviewer score 95%The Continental GT Speed isn't a trackday car; it's not pretending to be a 911 GT3 rival, and it's still a big grand tourer first and foremost. It's thumpingly fast. On Hangar Straight, 160mph comes and goes with laughable ease, and if Stowe corner wasn't in the way it would keep pulling all the way to 208mph. Those big brakes are up to the job of getting it stopped, and pedal feel is decent too.

Pros
- Sleek looks
- Impressive handling
- Good handling
Cons
- Not quite as fast as the regular GT
- Not the most fun to drive
carmagazine[12]
Reviewer score 86%V8 has 542bhp to the W12's 626bhp, and 568lb ft of torque. Top speed is also reduced, from 207mph to 198mph in the V8. 50kg of weight loss over the front axle makes a big difference, and reveals the Porsche-shared chassis to be far more capable than it seems in the weighty W12.
Find the original article here.
Pros
- Powerful V8 engine
- Comfortable to drive
- Impressive dynamic ride system
Cons
- Not as powerful as the W12
carmagazine[13]
Reviewer score 94%The new Continental GT starts life as a W12-powered coupé only. V8 and hybrid models will follow, as will higher performance and convertible versions. The old Continental GT used an adapted version of the VW Phaeton platform. It was finely tuned and cleverly fettled, and always felt as solid as a bank vault.

Pros
- Gorgeous looks
- Superb infotainment system
- Impressive handling
Cons
- Bentley’s design is a little dated
cnet[14]
Reviewer score 98%Now more than ever, the Bentley Continental GT is a big coupe you'll want to drive. A more athletic chassis and one of the world's finest V8 engines really make this car come alive. The EPA rates the 2020 Continental GT V8 at 16 miles per gallon city, 26 mpg highway and 19 mpg combined.
Find the original article here.
Pros
- Gorgeous interior
- Beautifully knurled switchgear and diamond-quilted leather
- Powerful V8 engine
Cons
- Not as powerful as the W12
cnet[15]
Reviewer score 93%The Continental GT V8 is as fine a grand tourer as its W12 counterpart, but at the same time, an even better sports car. The V8 models get new 20- and 21-inch wheel designs, and the W12's oval shaped exhausts are now split into a pair of dual-outlet pipes. Infotainment duties are handled by a Bentley-skinned version of the Porsche Communication Management software.

Pros
- Gorgeous interior design
- Fantastic infotainment tech
- Comfortable ride
Cons
- No Android Auto or Apple CarPlay
digitaltrends[16]
Reviewer score 64%The Continental GT V8 also gets the Bentley Dynamic Ride active suspension system from the W12 model and the Bentayga SUV. In Sport mode, acceleration goes from quick to ferocious, and the suspension stiffens up appreciably. The V8 engine adds an extra layer of sensation to this stately coupe.

Pros
- Powerful V8 engine
- Comfortable ride
- Powerful infotainment tech

- Lack of standard equipment
