androidauthority[1]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
The iPhone SE doesn't have dual-pixel autofocus — something that allows the Pixel 1-3 to see in stereo without two cameras. The one glaring issue with the iPhone SE's photo capabilities is the lack of night mode. The iPhone SE has a much faster processor, better build quality, and wireless charging, but the Pixel 4a sports a better OLED display.
Pros
  • Gorgeous OLED display
  • Great cameras
  • Great build quality
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No night mode

nextpit[2]

Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
Apple's 12-megapixel wide-angle camera features an f/1.8 aperture, 5x digital zoom, optical image stabilization, and the latest Smart HDR. The iPhone SE shoots very nice photos in good lighting conditions. In comparison to the flagship you have to do without a telephoto lens, night mode and object portraits.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Long battery life
  • Good cameras
  • Long-lasting battery
Cons
  • No TrueDepth camera
  • No telephoto lens

notebookcheck[3]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The iPhone SE is equipped with Apple's current top-of-the-line processor, the A13 Bionic, as well as 3 GB of RAM. Despite this, the benchmarks show the performance to be slower compared to Apple's 11 series. The two speakers on the Apple iPhone SE (2020) produce a fairly decent sound.
Pros
  • High-contrast display
  • Fast SoC
  • Decent battery life
  • Fast Wi-Fi
Cons
  • Display could be brighter

pcmag[4]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The iPhone SE is a terrific upgrade for anyone with an iPhone 7 or lower. It doesn't have 5G, but 5G isn't making a huge difference to a lot of people right now. You get 4K video on the main camera, as well as 1080p on the front-facing unit.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Good battery life
  • Excellent camera performance
Cons
  • No 5G
  • No headphone jack

phonearena[5]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from phonearena have found:
With a resolution of 750x1334 pixels, the iPhone SE is definitely not among the sharpest displays, but that's what you should expect from Apple's compact iPhones. In comparison, both the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR offer greater screen-to-body ratio and larger 6.1-inch displays. Thanks to the Apple A13 Bionic and the single OIS-enabled 12MP camera, the Apple iPhone SE 2020 is capable of delivering some truly outstanding photography results.
Pros
  • Compact, lightweight design
  • Excellent cameras
  • Superb battery life
Cons
  • Mediocre display
  • Only 1821mAh battery

t3[6]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The iPhone SE is the budget phone we'd recommend to most people. iOS is easy to use and reliable, the phone's powerful processor will keep it relevant for years. The camera is as good as flagship phones that cost twice as much (or more) It's so close to being a five-star phone – and for some people it might as well be.
Pros
  • Powerful processor
  • Good camera
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Average camera
  • No Night Mode
  • Average battery life

theverge[7]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from theverge have found:
There's no night mode, and in dim light, there's just too much noise. It's almost like the whole camera stack panics and overcorrects, especially on portraits. It absolutely punches above its weight class, with 4K stabilized both optically and with software, extended dynamic range, and the option to go as high as 4K at 60fps.
Pros
  • High refresh rate display
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent low-light photography
Cons
  • No night mode
  • No headphone jack

tomsguide[8]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The iPhone SE 2020 is the affordable iPhone to beat, and the one of the best cheap phones you can get. The iPhone SE is rated for less battery life than the the iPhone 11, so you shouldn't expect the longest endurance. Released after the iPhone SE, the Google Pixel 4a is a very good alternative to Apple's phone.
Pros
  • Slim bezels
  • Fast performance
  • Water resistant design
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No Night mode

whathifi[9]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The iPhone SE (2020) has to settle for a widescreen Retina HD LCD display with Multi-Touch. It has a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels and a ppi of 326. This matches the likes of the 11 and XR, but the resolution on those phones is higher at 1792 x 828. The SE's screen is a True Tone display with wide colour (P3) support, 625 nits of maximum brightness.
Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • Solid performance
  • Decent battery life
Cons
  • No Dolby Atmos
  • No wireless charging

wired[10]

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from wired have found:
The iPhone SE's A13 Bionic chip is in the same class as the flagships. Switching between apps was fluid in my testing. Videos launched and streamed smoothly on a stable Wi-Fi connection. Downloading, installing, and launching heavy apps took around six minutes.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Very good camera
Cons
  • No telephoto zoom
  • No headphone jack
