Product Overview

Citroen C5 Aircross is a compact crossover in production from 2017. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the smaller C4 Cactus, the C5 is essentially the successor even though the two were sold side by side in the first few years of the C5 Aircross' model run.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 39% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The C5 Aircross fulfils its promise of best-in-class practicality. Three individual, equal-width rear seats slide, recline and can be removed entirely. With those seats slid all the way forward there’s a very generous 720-litre boot. The only black mark in terms of space is the significant rear headroom reduction with the panoramic sunroof fitted.
Pros
  • Class-leading practicality
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Soft ride
  • Lack of damping sophistication

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 46% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Citroen C5 Aircross sits right at the top of the firm's UK line-up. It is built on the same PSA Group platform as the Peugeot 3008 and 5008. The rear features three individual, sliding, incline-adjustable and folding rear seats. There's no seven-seat option but it does mean that rear-seat space is generous.
Pros
  • Unique looks
  • Excellent fuel economy
Cons
  • No seven-seat option
  • No four-wheel drive option

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The real focus of the C5 Aircross is not under the hood or behind the wheels, but in the cabin. Up front, most versions get Citroën's Advanced Comfort seats, which are supremely well shaped and cushioned, with plenty of adjustment. In the back, there are three seats, all adult size (although not as big as those up front), and they can be moved forward and back or folded individually. With the rear seats in use you get at least 580 litres, and up to 720 with them folded flat.
Pros
  • Powerful engines
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Not so well equipped in the back

carwow[4]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The Citroen C5 Aircross is one of the most comfortable family SUVs on sale. It's easy to forget some of the interior drawbacks thanks to just how relaxing it is to drive. Thanks to an optional 360-degree camera, you can park with confidence, plus the steering is nice and light making manoeuvres very easy.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Decent fuel economy
Cons
  • Expensive compared to alternatives
  • Alternatives are more fun to drive
