Product Overview

Fiat 500 facelift is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2015. It is available with a range of inline-2, inline-3, and inline-4 engines that displaced 0.9 to 1.4 liters.
The 500 is one of the few cars that uses parallel-twin engines that are more often found in motorcycles. Interestingly, this is not the base engine, with weaker I3s on offer.
Owners may find that at speed the vehicle consumes a lot more than the numbers indicate, thanks to a disappointing 0.36 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Another plus is the small 9.3m (30.5ft) turning circle.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
For a still-unfinished car, the new 500 already feels a remarkably complete product. The Turin drive showed a car of great potential, albeit one with question marks over it. Pricing and specification are as yet unknown, save for the £26,995 (after government grant) of a fully loaded La Prima launch edition.
Pros
  • Powerful electric drivetrain
  • Decent range-saving mode
Cons
  • Not the most comfortable to drive
  • No infotainment

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The new Fiat 500 is a superb all-electric city car, and one that should be at the top of your shortlist if you're in the market for a stylish and immensely capable small EV. The 500 retains all of its familiar Italian flair, and is now even more appealing with updated on-board tech along with a practical real-world range. Throw in the government’s plug-in car grant incentive and the new 500 offers tremendous value for money.
Pros
  • Superb all-electric power
  • Excellent practicality
Cons
  • No kerb appeal
