Product Overview

Audi A4 B9 (Typ 8W) facelift is a compact executive sedan in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, the facelift brings compliance to the stricter Euro6d emission standards. This theoretically reduces the engines' reliability and longevity dramatically. Owners also complain that they sound worse than before.
To compensate, Audi introduced new electronic gadgets.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi A4 B9 comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The A4 remains a handsome looking thing, even if it can look a touch plain in some of the more basic specifications. Prices range from £30,750 for the entry-level saloon, and rise to around the £56,000 mark. Power comes from a choice of three petrol and three diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 134bhp through to 246bhp.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Comfortable ride
  • Decent tech appeal
Cons
  • Not as sporty as rivals

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Audi A4 has been on sale for a number of years now. It's available as a saloon or A4 Avant estate, while the A5 Sportback is a coupe-style hatchback variant. Performance models sit above the regular A4 range, including the fast-but-subtle S4 and the estate-only RS 4 Avant.
Pros
  • Cheap to run
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • No quattro four-wheel drive

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
Virtual Cockpit is now standard on all models, while the infotainment screen protruding from the dash has grown to 10.1 inches in size. The A4 still has a fantastically-built interior with simple heating controls and a pleasant feel. There's a new 2.0-litre TDI with a choice of 134bhp or 161bhp outputs (badged 30 TDI and 35 TDI respectively) replacing the old 147bhp unit.
Pros
  • Fantastically-built interior
  • Fantastic infotainment system
  • Lots of tech
Cons
  • Not as fast as rivals
  • Not as agile as rivals
