Product Overview

Skoda Octavia Mk4 is a compact sedan in production from 2019. It is available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the Mk3 Octavia, the Mk4 has a cleaner design, even though the enlarged front grille could be considered ugly. Luckily, all car now have independent rear suspensions.
Engineers at Skoda clearly made a great effort in aerodynamics, with a class-leading 0.24 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

External Reviews

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Octavia iV mixes a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine with an electric motor and 13kWh lithium-ion battery pack. You can have it in hatchback or estate bodystyles, and in SE L or SE Technology trims at launch. A more powerful version of the drivetrain is offered in a vRS iV model we’ve also tested.
Pros
  • Powerful petrol engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good range
Cons
  • No regenerative braking
  • Alternatives are more fun to drive

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The plug-in hybrid is not our favourite version of our reigning family car of the year. However, for those buyers who have access to a charger, whether at home or at work, this is a hugely tempting way to get into what remains a fabulously accomplished family car. There's a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine and a small electric motor.
Pros
  • Powerful petrol engine
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of practicality
