Product Overview

Opel Speedster is a subcompact targa sports car in production from 2001 to 2005. It was available with a two inline-4 engines that displaced 2.0 to 2.2 liters. The vehicle is largely based on the Lotus Elise, though GM used many proprietary parts.
Like the Elise, the Speedster is exceptionally light, weighing at below 1 ton. It has a good suspension setup and weight distribution, too. All this ensures that it offers superb handling. The point of the car is not about pure speed or performance.
The Opel Speedster was also sold as Vauxhall VX220 in the UK.
