Product Overview

Audi Q7 II (Typ 4M) is a large crossover in production from 2015 to 2019, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and V6 engines that displaced 2.0 to 3.0 liters.
Compared to the original Q7, Audi regrettably got rid of all the interesting engine options: No longer can one get VR6, V8 TDI, or V12 TDI engines. Instead, the drivetrain has been downsized. Further, Audi no longer uses the robust Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission, switching for the ZF 8HP instead, which is less durable but still fine.
Those who love V8s will have to get the new SQ7 now.
Those who drive offroad, for work or leisure, will appreciate the good approach, departure, breakover, and climb angles that the chassis offers. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy for the PHEVs, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the Audi Q7 II comes with multi-link suspensions at all four corners. This provides the best cornering performance and tunability, at the expense of cost and a little bit of durability.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
The Vorsprung Edition comes with a long list of extras to justify the extra £15,520 Audi wants for it. Extras include mammoth 22in wheels, matrix LED headlights, glitzy additional LED lighting inside and out, titanium black trim, sports seats in premium quilted leather, Alcantara headlining and a panoramic sunroof. A Bose 3D sound system, Audi’s Virtual Cockpit and a head-up display, plus more driver assist systems than you can shake a stick at, complete the additions.
Pros
  • Powerful V8 engine
  • Impressive all-round performance
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Lack of infotainment tech

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Vorsprung Edition is the SQ7 you'd choose if you got a bit over-excited with the options. It costs the best part of £90,000 - about £15,000 more than standard. The package is offered on the regular Q7 too, where it adds £25,000 to the price of a 3.0 TDI S line.
Pros
  • Gorgeous looks
  • Fantastic infotainment system
Cons
  • Expensive for what you get
