Product Overview

Ford Focus 4 is a compact hatchback in production from 2018 to 2021, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 1.0 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to the Focus 3, the new Ford Focus has a similar exterior design. Ford further downsized the engines an introduced mild hybridization. A number of automatic transmissions became available to help improve the fuel economy, though it is questionable whether the vehicle is able to save the owner any money at all.
Ford has made a good effort in aerodynamics, with a decent 0.27 coefficient of drag to show for it. The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.

autocar[1]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
At a base on-road price of £25,300, you get an affordable yet sophisticated drive for a lowish price. The new three-cylinder doesn't give the car massive performance (8.3sec 0-62mph is decently brisk rather than truly fast, though the 137mph top speed is quicker than any one of us will need) But it delivers so smoothly, with such a sophisticated sound and willing response that you can't help liking it a lot.
Pros
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Comfortable ride
  • Decent handling
Cons
  • Pricier than rivals

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Focus Mk4 has been recalled 11 times so far, three of these times because of chafing to the engine bay wiring loom. The now-discontinued Focus Style carried a 4.2-inch colour screen, but the majority of used examples will have the eight-inch system. There’s enough head and legroom for a couple of six-footers in the back (but not three) The boot can stow 443 litres with the rear seats up, and 1,320 litres with them down.
Pros
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Excellent ergonomics
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Lack of cambelts
  • Brake pedal hinge bolts
