Product Overview

Renault Clio IV is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2012 to 2019. It was available with a range of inline-3 and inline-4 engines that displaced 0.9 to 1.6 liters.
Compared to the Mk3 Clio, the Mk4 received a much-needed styling update, though it still has a basic chassis and suspension setup. Engines have become even smaller, though Renault made sure that forced induction made up the output difference.
Renault started using DCTs in place of conventional automatic transmissions, giving the vehicle some boost in driving dynamics.
The official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality. Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 300L (11cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.

Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The Clio GT gets long, cool aluminium column-mounted levers with a nicely-damped movement and quality feel to them. The touchscreen ‘R-link' infotainment system is intuitive, bursting with features, and quick-witted enough to embarrass a few so-called ‘premium brand' interface's sleepless nights. Despite stiffer springs, the Clio's chassis still isn't truly playful – a regular Ford Fiesta is more lively, adjustable and communicative.
Pros
  • Fun to drive
  • Excellent standard gearbox
  • Comfortable to ride
Cons
  • Cramped rear seats
  • No third pedal
