Product Overview

Citroen DS5 is a mid-size hatchback in production from 2011 to 2015, whereupon it became just "DS 5". It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.6 to 2.0 liters.
Compared to cheaper Citroen models, the DS5 enjoys fully independent suspensions. Even though the DS5 is just a mid-size vehicle, thanks to its hatchback form factor it provides a lot of interior space. From some angles, one may even find the quirky design interesting.
The hybrid drivetrain can help the owner save on fuel and car tax, though regulators seems to prefer the more complex PHEV instead. Its official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality.
Drivers who appreciate handling should keep in mind that the Citroen DS5 uses MacPherson front suspension, which doesn't provide the best cornering performance.

Reviewer score 29% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The DS5's swooping roofline and standout road presence make it one of the most head-turning cars on sale in the UK. Its major weakness has always been the lumpy ride – spec the visually essential 19in rims and it's intolerably harsh. There are few cars which we yearn to be good as the flair-festooned Citroen DS5.
Pros
  • Gorgeous styling
  • Stylish interior
Cons
  • Lacklustre fuel economy
  • Poor ride quality
