Product Overview

Audi A3 Sportback (Typ 8PA) is an affordable compact hatchback in production from 2004 to 2008, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 and VR6 engines that displaced 1.4 to 3.2 liters.
Compared to the 3-door model, the Sportback is noticeably uglier, though it provides a level of utility for those with small children to haul around. Mechanically, the Sportback is almost identical to the 3-door version.
This means that the Mk2 A3 Sportback has access to the interesting VR6 engine, which is a quirky, though unreliable, engine that is exceptionally compact.
It also means that only the quattro AWD models have fully independent suspensions.
