Product Overview

Audi A1 Sportback (Typ 8X) is an affordable subcompact hatchback in production from 2012 to 2014, whereupon it received a facelift. It was available with a range of inline-4 engines that displaced 1.2 to 2.0 liters.
Essentially, the Mk1 A1 Sportback is a posh version of the Mk5 VW Polo. Audi also markets a three-door variant called just A1; the two share the exact same chassis and drivetrain setup.
The A1's official fuel economy rating is exceptionally rosy, though it may cast more doubts on the trustworthiness of the regulators and perhaps the owner's own sanity than it relates to reality. Utility-minded owners will have to keep in mind that the 270L (10cu-ft) cargo space may not be sufficient.
