Product Overview

Fujifilm GF 30mm F3.5 R WR is an ultra wide-angle prime lens for Fujifilm G-mount. It covers the medium format image circle. Introduced by Fujifilm in 2020, it has 13 elements in 10 groups.
For incremental weathers, Fujifilm is kind enough to include weather sealing. On the lens barrel, one can find a physical aperture ring. Those who wish to focus manually can have the best of both worlds (with the usual caveats).
As an ultra wide-angle prime lens that happens to have relatively small maximum aperture, it is best suited for landscape photography. Even though the lens is not stabilized, at this focal range it does not usually matter. In fact, some may be able to get cleaner corners without image stabilization.

Reviewers from dpreview have found:
Fujifilm GF 30mm F3.5 R WR is a welcome addition to the company's medium-format lens lineup. Its versatile 24mm-equivalent focal length, reasonable size and not-outrageous price make it a solid option for GFX users wanting a wide-angle view. Vignetting is minimal (and also gone by F5.6), and distortion isn't much concern. Chromatic aberrations are very well controlled.
Pros
  • Wide-angle lens
  • Compact size and weather-sealing
  • Low distortion
Cons
  • Out-of-focus highlights can be distracting
  • Bokeh balls can be a bit distracting
