Product Overview

Samsung Q80A is a premium 4K QLED TV with full-array LED backlighting that enhances its contrast and HDR performance. Like other premium QLED TVs, it covers 100% DCI-P3 color space and refreshes at 120Hz natively.
QLED panels offer some of the best brightness and contrast in the industry today. The Q80A packs it in a sleek form factor with minimal bezels.
As manufacturers are pushing for gaming use of their TVs, Samsung has endowed the Q80A with ultra-low latency / input lag as well as support for variable frame rates.
Naturally, the Q80A comes with a range of smart TV functions, including all major voice assistants as well as Samsung's proprietary Bixby.
A calling card of the Q80A is Object-Tracking Sound that uses its Quantum Processor to deliver pinpoint the source of the sound on the picture for an immersive video experience.
Other 2021 conventional 4K QLED models in Samsung's lineup include the Q60A, Q70A, and The Frame. They are joined by the new Neo QLED models.

    rtings[1]

Reviewer score 53% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung Q80A is great for watching TV shows. It has wide viewing angles, great if you tend to watch shows with the entire family. It's also good for gaming thanks to its quick response time, low input lag, and extra features like VRR support. However, it's not the best for watching movies or HDR content because it has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray.
    Pros
    • Wide viewing angles
    • High peak brightness
    • Good reflection handling
    • Low input lag
    Cons
    • Low contrast ratio
    • Local dimming feature causes blooming around bright objects
