LaptopProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Lenovo ThinkPad X13 GEN 2 i is an ultra-portable business laptop powered by 11th-gen Intel Core Tiger Lake processors. Compared to its predecessor, the GEN 2 model features higher-resolution WUXGA (FHD+) and WQXGA (QHD+) IPS display panels in 16:10 aspect ratio.
Like other premium ThinkPad laptops, the X13 GEN 2 i adopts a professional, no-nonsense design. New for this generation, Lenovo is pushing an alternative Storm Grey aluminum cover option apart from the standard ThinkPad black. For productivity on-the-go, the X13 GEN 2 i not only improves battery life performance but also improved WiFi 6E and 5G wireless connectivity.
At the same time, the new ThinkPad X13 GEN 2 i retains security features such as memory-on-chip fingerprint reader, dTPM 2.0 chip, and privacy shutter on IR camera that business users have come to expect.
Last but not least, Lenovo also introduces FHD IR webcam option that can be valuable in this age of online meetings.
Alongside the X13 GEN 2 i, Lenovo also introduced a range of other ThinkPad models, including the X13 GEN 2, which is the AMD-powered variant of the same model.

laptopmag[1]
Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 comes with Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. It's ideal for running photo and video editing apps, but steer clear of graphics-intensive gaming. Like many other built-in laptop cameras, the ThinkPad's 720 webcam is far from impressive. The Lenovo laptop's touchpad peaked at 84 degrees Fahrenheit on our heat test.
Pros
- Sleek, slim design
- Excellent performance
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Poor webcam
- Lackluster speakers
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)The new ThinkPad X13 G2 is a good update. The device is slightly more compact, you get 16:10 displays, the performance of the Tiger Lake processor is good and Lenovo also managed to increase the battery capacity. The biggest advantage compared to consumer devices like the Dell XPS 13, Apple MacBook Pro 13 and Huawei MateBook X Pro is the comprehensive connectivity including SmartCard reader and optional WWAN modules for LTE or even 5G.
Pros
- Matte 16:10 display
- Long battery runtime
- Good connectivity
- Good battery life
Cons
- Display could be brighter
- No SD card reader
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ThinkPad X13 Gen 2 is a fine choice for businesses looking for a compact workhorse. Despite having a Core i5 instead of i7 processor, the X13 benchmarks reasonably well against competitors. The X13's cooling fan is sometimes annoyingly loud, even when the laptop is idle.
Pros
- Slim, light design
- Excellent keyboard and touchpad
- Long battery life
Cons
- No 4K resolution
- No vPro remote management
