Product Overview

LG 49WL95C-W is a high-end ultra-wide curved Dual-QHD monitor in LG's UltraWide series. Designed for productivity, it has the viewing area of two conjoined 27-inch QHD displays.
Interestingly, unlike most curved displays, the 49WL95C features an IPS panel rather than VA panel. This echoes the positioning of the monitor for content creators. It also comes with HDR 10 support as well as an ambient light sensor for automatic display adjustment.
For increased versatility, this UltraWide monitor supports LG's Dual Controller 2.0, allowing easy Picture-By-Picture viewing. The 49WL95C also boasts two 10W stereo speakers. Last but not least, the 49WL95C comes with a USB 3.0 hub.
For a less extreme aspect ratio, LG also markets several 38-inch, 21:9 models such as 38WK95C, 38WN75C, and 38WN95C.

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The LG 49WL95C-W is the best overall of the 49-inch monitors we've tested. Its vast screen area and high resolution for its size make it ideal for multitasking. Its pair of 10-watt speakers provides good volume and sound quality. LG includes a mere one-year warranty, which is stingy considering the product's price.
Pros
  • Ultra-wide aspect ratio
  • Good color accuracy
  • Solid build quality
Cons
  • No built-in speakers
  • No adaptive sync

Reviewer score 58% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG 49WL95C-W is a good monitor for most uses. The high resolution, wide format screen is especially well-suited for office use. It's a pretty basic gaming monitor, with no dedicated gaming features, but it still delivers a good gaming experience. It isn't as good for HDR gaming, though, as it has disappointing contrast and can't get very bright.
Pros
  • Outstanding size and high resolution
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Excellent low input lag
  • Good response time
Cons
  • Can't get very bright
  • Limited ergonomics
  • No FreeSync support

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
LG UltraWide 49WL95C Curved has a 49-inch, 32:9 aspect ratio, 5,120 x 1,440 pixel resolution curved display. It's not the sharpest, but it's more than sharp enough for everyday use, video editing, and a bit of gaming. The maximum 60Hz refresh rate will put serious gamers off. The build is solid and premium-feeling, there's support for HDR 10, and you can even connect up two devices to the screen and use half the space for each of them.
Pros
  • Impressive 60Hz refresh rate
  • Great build quality
Cons
  • Not the sharpest

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
LG 49WL95C ultrawide monitor costs $1,496 (£1,160, AU$2,085) The full 49-inch diagonal of the curved LCD panel is impressive enough on its own. But it's the 32:9 aspect ratio that makes this monitor so incredibly eye popping.
Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • Excellent build quality
Cons
  • No local dimming
  • No HDR10 support
