Product Overview

Samsung TU8300 Crystal UHD is a curved 4K TV that features Samsung's Crystal Display and powered by the latest Crystal Processor 4K. It combines the sleek, narrow-bezel design similar to the QLED models with a unique curvature that provides an immersive viewing experience.
One of the more affordable 4K smart TVs by Samsung, the TU8300 still retains Bixby personal assistant, Dolby Audio, and basic HDR support. It is uses Samsung's Tizen operating system. It also has Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built in.
Its curvature is subtle enough that the TU8300 also works well mounted on the wall. Ambient Mode transforms it into a picture frame. Last but not least, owners can use the TU8300 as a computer display remotely.
Other 2020 4K Crystal TVs by Samsung include the TU7000, TU8000, TU8500, and TU9000, among others.

Reviewer score 30% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung TU8300 is a decent TV for mixed usage. Its excellent contrast and great black uniformity make it an alright TV for watching movies. Its okay peak brightness helps it overcome glare while watching TV during the day. While it's good for video games thanks to its incredibly low input lag, unfortunately, its mediocre response time means there's some motion blur.
Pros
  • Outstanding contrast ratio
  • Great black uniformity
  • Excellent peak brightness
Cons
  • Mediocre response time
  • Poor viewing angles
  • No local dimming feature
