Product Overview

Samsung TU7000 Crystal UHD is a 4K TV that features Samsung's Crystal Display and powered by the latest Crystal Processor 4K. It sports a sleek, narrow-bezel design similar to the QLED models, even though conventional LCD panels are used.
As one of the most affordable 4K smart TVs by Samsung, the TU7000 drops built-in AI assistant, though it can work with Google Assistance and Amazon Alexa. Still, the TU7000 retains basic HDR support; it also uses Samsung's Tizen operating system.
Compared to the similarly-designed TU8000, the TU7000 comes with a lesser remote and fewer I/O ports.
In some markets, Samsung markets the TU7000 as TU 7020, while a model without Bluetooth is sold as TU7000. TU7100 is essentially the same model in a different color.
Other 2020 4K Crystal TVs by Samsung include the TU8000, TU8300, TU8500, and TU9000, among others.

External Reviews

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 33% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Samsung TU7000 is okay for mixed usage. It doesn't perform well in bright environments, but it has an excellent contrast ratio that makes blacks look deep. The narrow viewing angles are not well-suited for watching TV or sports with friends since the image loses accuracy from the side. It has a remarkably low input lag for a responsive gaming experience.
Pros
  • Excellent contrast ratio
  • Outstanding black uniformity
  • Low input lag for a responsive gaming experience
Cons
  • Narrow viewing angles
  • No local dimming feature
  • Doesn't get bright enough to overcome glare in well-lit rooms

Reviewers from t3 have found:
Tizen-based Smart Hub operating system is clean and logical. Control is available via a small, overbuttoned and altogether too complicated remote handset. Every catch-up TV service is included, and its streaming app selection is extensive. Apple TV and Disney+ are available alongside the more usual Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Rakuten and so on.
Pros
  • Excellent picture quality
  • Excellent smart TV platform
  • Decent sound
Cons
  • Lack of a third HDMI input

tomsguide[3]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
In pretty much every category, the Samsung TU7000 TV is average for an LED set at this price. It runs Samsung's familiar Tizen operating system, complete with an unobtrusive quick launch bar. The set doesn't get Samsung's Object Tracking Sound (OTS) Plus technology for total immersion.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Dolby Atmos, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision
Cons
  • Lacks built-in microphones
  • Lackluster smarts
