Product Overview

Lenovo ThinkPad P15 is a powerful mobile workstation that replaces the outgoing P53-series. Just like the larger P17, the P15 features up to Xeon W-10885M processor, 128MB DDR4 ECC memory, and NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q with 16GB GDDR6; what it adds is the optional OLED touch display.
Improved heat management allows for 13% more air flow and 30% larger CPU heat sink. Combined with the more efficient Intel 10th-gen Core processors, the P15 delivers higher performance for longer on-the-go. Lenovo has also given the new P series a more modular design with daughter cards. Four times the number of GPU and CPU configurations compared to the previous generation will be available as a result.
Other models in this generation of ThinkPad P-series include six mobile workstations: the flagship P17, the thinner P15v, which shares its chassis with the T15p, and P15s, which shares its chassis with the T15, and the P1 Gen 3, which shares its chassis with the X1 Extreme Gen 3 in the 15.6-inch class; and the P14s with AMD or Intel processors in the 14-inch class, which shares their chasses with the T14.

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Lenovo ThinkPad P15 is a remarkable laptop in many regards. Its virtually unmatched performance can handle any conceivable task you could throw at it. But it has a few clear misses that make it a less compelling option for some users. The sheer size and weight, at over 6 pounds 1.2 inches thick, means the P15 shouldn't be the first choice.
Pros
  • Stunning 4K UHD display
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Loud fans
  • Poor webcam

notebookcheck[2]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
With its powerful components, the ThinkPad P15 does not show any weaknesses in the system performance. The P15 is also able to display modern games smoothly in Full-HD resolution and at high detail settings. The high CPU consumption values come at a price: the external temperatures rise up to 60 °C (140 °F) on the bottom.
Pros
  • Full-HD display
  • Long battery life
  • Good input devices
Cons
  • No dedicated touchpad keys
  • Throttling under load
  • Only one M.2 slot

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Lenovo's ThinkPad P15 is a first-class imaging platform. It's built for professional apps, but it's certainly capable of playing the latest games after hours. The ThinkPad is not as expensive as our Dell Precision50 review unit. But it's a juggernaut among professional laptops and workstations.
Pros
  • Gorgeous, gorgeous screen
  • Sleek design
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port
