External Reviews
digitaltrends[1]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Envy 15's touchpad is better than the Spectre x360 15's. It's glass-covered and so very comfortable for scrolling and swiping. Windows 10 Hello password-less login is provided by a fingerprint scanner. The Dell XPS 15 and 17 both offer equal or better performance with awesome displays.
Pros
- Powerful AMOLED display
- Comfortable keyboard
- Excellent build quality
Cons
- Expensive for a 15-inch laptop
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Envy 15 is smaller in footprint because of thinner bezels but thicker in size because of the much faster processors inside. The system integrates a MicroSD reader instead of a full-size one. Transfer rates are decent, but they're nowhere near as fast as what you'd get from the Dell XPS 15 series or Spectre x360 15 series.
Pros
- High-quality aluminum chassis
- High-contrast 4K OLED display
- Good battery life
Cons
- Lid tends to teeter when adjusting angles
techradar[3]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac), meanwhile, sound pretty good for laptop speakers. The HP Envy 15 isn't the Gigabyte Aorus 17X or Asus Zephyrus Duo, but it can still play the latest AAA games and play them pretty damned well. This might not be your next gaming laptop, but if you're looking for a work computer that you can turn around and get some quality gaming out of in your off hours, you can't go wrong here.
Pros
- Very good performance
- Very good battery life
- Fast performance
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
tomshardware[4]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The HP Envy 15 features a 720p webcam that gets the job done, even if it's not as nice as an external option. It ran for 5 hours and 30 minutes on our battery test, which continuously browses the web. The MacBook Pro was the undisputed battery king of the group with just under 11 hours of battery life.
Pros
- Gorgeous 4K AMOLED display
- Excellent battery life
- Good security features
Cons
- Lacks a webcam
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
