Product Overview
The redesigned Dell XPS 15 (9500) now features, like the relaunched XPS 17, 16:10 aspect ratio in a 4-sided InfinityEdge display as well as up-firing speakers.
Machined from two pieces of aluminium, the XPS 15 is lightweight yet strong and durable. The new hinge design works in concert with the 4-sided InfinityEdge display. With up to UHD+ (3840x2400) resolution, the display on the XPS 15 is equipped with Eyesafe technology that reduces blue light emission. It is topped by the smallest HD webcam discretely hidden in the bezel.
Along with XPS 17, the XPS 15 is the first laptop to feature Waves Nx 3D audio.

The bigger touchpad is great, but I don't like that the power button/fingerprint reader in the upper right corner is intentionally left a mystery. Dell grew the touchpad and moved the speakers to either side of the keyboard.

The upgrade from the Nvidia GTX 1650 to the 1650 Ti, though, does provide a hearty bump in terms of game performance. The base model is a good fit for users who want a top-tier laptop for everyday use.

The new model has much better thermals and can perform more tasks without ever needing to spin up its fans. Unlike Apple, Dell does include a free USB-C to USB-A/HDMI dongle in the box.

The 0.08-inch webcam is proprietary and one of the smallest shooters you'll find integrated into a laptop. But for sharper and more color accurate shots, you should invest in an external webcam.

Color space is at an interesting spot as it is measurably wider than sRGB while being smaller than AdobeRGB. There are no Core i9 options as of this writing and we're definitely not complaining.

You can buy this laptop with or without a touchscreen, depending on what you need and how much money you want to spend. The laptop will last you a day away from the office and then some.

The 6-core, 12-thread processor has power similar to that of a desktop PC. Its Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti is not a favourite pick among enthusiasts. But its performance at 1080p resolution is adequate with recent games.

Packed with an Intel Core i7-10875H and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, the laptop falls into what we would call the "prosumer" market. It's not so powerful that professional video editors or 3D artists are going to jump for it, but it's definitely powerful for anyone that does that stuff for a hobby, or just doesn't want to get slowed down.

It's not a great option for gaming unless you're willing to bump the eye candy down. Almost six hours of battery life isn't terrible for a system with an H-series processor.

The improved, truly bezel-less InfinityEdge display is one of the most immersive and gorgeous screens you can find on a laptop. Dell’s laptop lasted 8 hours and 1 minute on our battery test, which is decent for a 4K laptop.

The bright 400-nit display is bursting with sharp colours, while the superb 1236:1 contrast ensures bright lights stand out vividly from the darker shades. The 4K panel is also of a good enough standard for professional-grade content creation, with an sRGB colour gamut accuracy of 100%. Maxing out the specs will cost a mighty £2908.99.
