Product Overview

LG NanoCell 85 4K TV is a mid-level option in LG's 2020 IPS smart TV lineup. Compared to the NanoCell 90, its panel is edge-lit and its speakers are less powerful; otherwise, it shares much of the same features with the higher-end model.
The NanoCell 86 available in select markets is essentially the same unit as the NanoCell 85 except for a different stand.
LG also markets the NanoCell 80, which uses direct backlighting and a lower-end processor and supports a lower refresh rate and fewer HDR functionalities.

Reviewer score 30% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG NANO85 is a decent TV for mixed usage. It performs best as a gaming TV or as a PC monitor thanks to its low input lag and good response time. It's not the best choice for watching movies in a dark room since it has a low contrast ratio, poor black uniformity, and a bad local dimming feature.
    Pros
    • Low input lag
    • Wide viewing angles
    • Good response time
    Cons
    • Mediocre black uniformity
    • Poor local dimming
