autocar[1]

Sentiment Score 62%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
In seven-seat form, the GLS houses a 355-litre load bay, rising to 2400 litres with the second and third rows folded. At 5213mm long, the new GLS has grown by 51mm, making it 62mm larger than the BMW X7. It’s well proportioned, but its sheer presence is hard to disguise when you see one up close. The GLS handles relatively nimbly, aided by the smooth ride of the air suspension.

Pros
  • Sleek, spacious interior
  • Excellent off-road performance
  • Excellent infotainment system
Cons
  • Not as big as rivals
  • Not as spacious as rivals

autocar[2]

Sentiment Score 53%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
Price starts at £75,040 and goes up to £91,540 for the AMG Line Premium Plus Executive. UK versions of the GLS miss out on Mercedes’ trick E-Active body control system, opting instead for standard adaptive air suspension. Step-off is impressively smooth, the 2.9-litre six-cylinder's immense torque reserves allowing you to gracefully surge forward before its distantly muscular rumble gradually ebbs as you come off the throttle.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable ride
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • No E-Active body control
  • Lacklustre ride quality

autocar[3]

Sentiment Score 74%
Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The GLS 600 has been given impressive performance, handling and refinement. Power comes from the same mild-hybrid drivetrain used by recently unveiled S580. It mates a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine with a 48V starter-generator. It provides the new Maybach SUV with 549bhp and 538lb ft of torque.

Pros
  • Superb handling
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Superb infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of standard equipment

autoexpress[4]

Sentiment Score 65%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
Head-up display is huge and useful, while Infotainment is solid in presentation. While the dual 12.3-inch screens up front are bright and beautiful, the MBUX software running on them is still a little unintuitive to browse. Performance is strong considering that this is such a big and heavy car, with the 700Nm of torque the defining factor. It pulls the mighty GLS along very well if you lean on the throttle, and with little fuss.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Excellent infotainment
  • Excellent off-road tech
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of standard air suspension

autoexpress[5]

Sentiment Score 73%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS feels like a perfectly credible rival for the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga. It offers a more comfortable ride than the two British heavyweights as well as more high-tech driver assistance and better infotainment. However, some may be unable to look beyond the fact that it is simply a dressed-up GLS.

Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Svelte ride quality
  • Decent infotainment system
Cons
  • Noisy engine

cnet[6]

Sentiment Score 78%
Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The E-Active Body Control suspension is an impressive upgrade that improves comfort, convenience and performance. The full-sized SUV can be had with adaptive cruise control that can maintain a set following distance behind a leading vehicle. Expect the 2020 GLS450 to start at $75,200 before options and a $995 destination and delivery charge.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior design
  • EQ Boost technology
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other Mercedes-Benz SUVs

cnet[7]

Sentiment Score 89%
Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS63 starts at $134,090 including $995 for delivery. The GLS' interior is one of the best in the three-row SUV space. There's plenty of Nappa leather, open-pore wood and I'm totally here for the center grab handles. The Energizing Comfort program is a bit wackadoo.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Gorgeous interior
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Not as powerful as rivals

digitaltrends[8]

Sentiment Score 78%
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found the following***:
On the road, the GLS 580 is as powerful as you expect but the smaller GLS 450 is also surprisingly fast. The GLS includes adjustable ground clearance up to 8.5 inches, and will ford through water deeper than you really should be driving through. Mercedes covers all of their vehicles with a four-year, 50,000-mile general warranty that includes the powertrain.
Find the original article here.
Pros
  • Class-leading off-road performance
  • Stylish looks
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Expensive for what you get
