autocar[1]

Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autocar have found:
If you like the bright, prominent screens and slightly chintzy details of the A-Class, you’ll like it in here. The car again does an A45 S double act in that it can be a picture of docility one moment then reveal dizzying performance and capability the next. The steering response is also clean but surprisingly meaty, the car easy to place and dry grip levels mammoth. In short, it does fun better than expected – more so in the wet.
Pros
  • Superb power and torque
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of standard equipment
Cons
  • Not as practical as the A45 S
  • Alternatives are more fun to drive

autoexpress[2]

Reviewer score 45% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from autoexpress have found:
The Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 Shooting Brake does stand apart from anything else on offer in the small premium car market. But it suffers from a relative shortage of practicality and a bland-sounding four-cylinder engine. At this price, we'd be tempted to go for a rapid petrol BMW 5 Series Touring, which is more rewarding to drive and properly spacious.
Pros
  • Stylish looks
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of practicality
  • Disappointing infotainment

carmagazine[3]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carmagazine have found:
The CLA45 has a 0-62mph sprint time as short as some supercars. The 415bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder just surges without faltering right up to the redline. The steering is hyper-alert off-centre, but not twitchy at higher speeds. The boot space is 505-litres large, with a nicely square aperture for loading bulky things.
Pros
  • Superb all-wheel drive
  • Impressive handling
  • Superb infotainment system
Cons
  • Slightly plasticky interior

carwow[4]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from carwow have found:
The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Shooting Brake is a stylish, yet more practical, version of the uber-slinky CLA 45 Coupe. It looks almost identical to its coupe cousin from the front, but from the side, you'll notice it has a much longer roof and more upright rear windscreen that make it significantly roomier inside. Other visual highlights include a lowered front bumper, contrasting black rear diffuser and a set of two large exhaust pipes at the back.
Pros
  • More practical than the standard CLA 45 Coupe
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Lack of infotainment tech
