Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
Sony's A8H OLED is an undeniably premium TV with a premium price to match. Out of box color is superb, with very little tweaking left for a professional calibrator to perform. A TV this good deserves a bigger system, but the onboard sound is totally respectable.
    Pros
    • Superb picture quality
    • Excellent build quality
    • Superb sound quality
    Cons
    • No HDMI 2.1

    rtings[2]

    Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Sony A8H is an excellent TV for most uses. Its picture quality is amazing thanks to an infinite contrast ratio and near-instantaneous response time. It upscales lower resolution content well, which is great for watching cable TV or sports. Like all OLEDs, there's a risk of permanent burn-in, but this shouldn't be a problem if you watch varied content.
    Pros
    • Fantastic motion handling
    • Image remains accurate no matter what angle you watch from
    • Excellent viewing angles
    • Incredibly bright
    Cons
    • Near-instantaneous response time
    • Doesn't support variable refresh rate technology

    Reviewers from t3 have found:
The A8/A8H sees Sony's OLED story really come of age. Sony's unique Acoustic Surface technology continues to deliver impressive sonics. The way the A8 harnesses Sony's processing quality to OLED's self-illuminating charms results in pictures that often take your breath away. The A8's dependence on Android TV for most of its smart features doesn't make it the easiest TV to use.
    Pros
    • Superb image quality
    • Superb smart TV system
    • Excellent build quality
    Cons
    • Lack of Android TV support

    techradar[4]

Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from techradar have found:
The 65A8 has been formally approved by IMAX as being capable of unlocking the full potential of the IMAX Enhanced picture mastering system. The screen responds well to Dolby Vision's extra scene by scene image data, enjoying a little more dynamism and refinement. Sony's Dynamic Contrast Enhancer needs to be handled with care, and actually works best with non-movie content. There's not a great deal of height to the 65a8's Dolby Atmos sound stage, but the precision and dynamics of object-based sound playback is still unusually effective.
    Pros
    • Brilliant picture quality
    • Impressive HDR performance
    • Excellent sound
    Cons
    • No 4K/HDR support
    • No HDR10+ support

Sony Bravia A8H OLED lets you take advantage of the best Google Assistant commands. Android TV's rows show a steady mix of your favorite content and recommendations for what to watch next. Chromecast comes built in and worked smoothly when we tried casting our Chrome browser to access a recorded Zoom workout class.
    Pros
    • Sleek, premium design
    • Excellent picture quality
    • Google Assistant and Chromecast support
    Cons
    • No HDMI 2.1

    wired[6]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
    Reviewers from wired have found:
The Sony A8H boasts a set of speakers inside the display itself, and the sound is decent. It's like listening to a movie on your Apple earbuds. For a cinematic experience to match the killer display, you should absolutely pair it with good speakers or a soundbar. This is a TV that handles color, contrast and brightness with a deft hand.
    Pros
    • Vibrant, vibrant, and lifelike picture
    • Excellent motion smoothing
    • Solid build quality
    Cons
    • Motion smoothing is an abomination
