Product Overview

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5 is a premium business 2-in-1 laptop computer designed for durability and performance on the go. In its 5th incarnation, the X1 Yoga offers improved battery life, connectivity, and form factor; it is also Lenovo's first laptop to be Intel Athena Certified.
Sharing much of the design details and configurable components with the clamshell X1 Carbon Gen 8, the X1 Yoga Gen 5 is more versatile, with arguably no compromise except for the comparatively more reflective display.
In the same generation of ThinkPad X1-series lineup, Lenovo also markets the X1 Nano, X1 Extreme Gen 3, and the foldable X1 Fold.

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5 is a more modern business laptop, but it still has a commercial heart. The 1080p screen is the better choice for most potential buyers, as it'll result in longer battery life. The included stylus is a unique feature too, one that's matched by only the Samsung Galaxy Book Flex.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent keyboard and TrackPoint stylus
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Slightly stodgy design
  • No Thunderbolt 3

At 3 pounds and 12.7 x 8.6 x 0.6 inches, it is incredibly light and slim, making it a perfect companion for business users who are always on the go. It offers two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.1 ports, an HDMI port, a headphone jack and a security lock slot.

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
PCMark 10 and 8 are holistic performance suites developed by the PC benchmark specialists at UL. The ThinkPad didn't win, but it cleared the 4,000-point hurdle that indicates superb productivity. The X1 Yoga averaged an extra second or two per editing operation. Its gorgeous screen still makes it a solid choice for managing digital photos.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 4K screen
  • Excellent battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • No SD card slot
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port
