androidauthority[1]
Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)If you're looking for a true desktop replacement, the 16-inch MacBook Pro fits the bill. While the MacBook has a good Radeon Pro 5500M GPU, it's not as powerful as the NNidia graphics chips that can be found in its competitors. At $2,399 for the base model, and $3,499 as spec'd, the MacBook Pro is for those who need their laptop to be productive — it's a pro machine through and through.
Pros
- Slim, light form factor
- Excellent performance
- Great battery life
Cons
- Display could be brighter
- No Thunderbolt 3
arstechnica[2]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)Apple has been narrowing the target audience of its Mac product line. The Mac is not the PC for everyone, as it was once positioned. By saying "bye" to the butterfly keyboard and using just a tiny bit more space in the chassis to improve the thermals, Apple has addressed user concerns about reliability and performance.
Pros
- The butterfly keyboard is the best-ever performance in a Mac laptop
- The keyboard is basically the same as the butterfly keyboard that is the same keyboard that has been making for many, many years
Cons
- The keyboard feels awfully heavy
- It’s not for everyone
digitaltrends[3]
Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MacBook Pro 16 is fast, but it's not a gaming laptop. The Dell XPS 15, with its Nvidia GTX 1650, will always be a better choice for gaming. Apple has tuned the speakers well, and it claims an extra half-octave of bass. For the first time in years, I can breath a sigh of relief and recommend a MacBook Pro.
Pros
- Gorgeous 16:10 OLED 4K screen
- Excellent speakers
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Not a gaming laptop
notebookcheck[4]
Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MacBook Pro 16 has excellent speakers. They even offer better audio quality than many Bluetooth speakers, in our opinion. Apple favours higher internal temperatures to keep the laptop running quietly. The two fans are almost inaudible when our review unit is idling, although we can hear them with our ear around 10 cm away from the top case.
Pros
- High-quality case
- Good speakers
- Good battery life
- Good input devices
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcmag[5]
Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 16-inch MacBook Pro is easy to recommend to well-heeled content creators. Its 100-watt-hour battery helped it achieve an excellent battery life of nearly 19 hours on our video rundown test. It's a pity that Apple doesn't offer an easier-entry version of this laptop with more expensive components.
Pros
- Gorgeous 16-inch display
- Powerful CPU and GPU
- Excellent battery life
- Strong audio performance
Cons
- Lackluster keyboard
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
t3[6]
Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MacBook Pro 16-inch has the biggest battery you'll find on any laptop for the foreseeable future. It's capable of editing 8K video live without transcoding on multiple tracks, or as many 4K streams as you could hope to load on it. After years of a low-travel keyboard that was at best divisive, Apple has returned to using a keyboard with more travel. It still has the Touch Bar at the top – a thin screen with shortcuts and controls that can be customised for each app – that regularly threatens to feel useful.
Pros
- Gorgeous 16-inch screen
- Superb performance
- Great battery life
Cons
- Keyboard is a bit fiddly
- Poor webcam
techradar[7]
Reviewer score 97% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MacBook Pro 16-inch makes short work of the benchmark tests. The processor is similar to the one in the 15-inch model, but clocked slightly lower. The new graphics card means this is a formidable laptop when it comes to graphics rendering – and it can push the higher resolution without any degradation in performance. There are six speakers in the MacBook Pro, with Force Feedback-enabled woofers. We were impressed with the clarity and quality of recorded audio.
Pros
- Gorgeous 16-inch screen
- Excellent speakers
- Great battery life
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
tomsguide[8]
Reviewer score 94% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 16-inch MacBook Pro is one of the most powerful laptops in its class. It took Apple's system a mere 8 minutes to transcode a 6.5GB 4K video to 1080p. As per usual, Apple offers some of the fastest SSDs in the world.
Pros
- Gorgeous 16-inch display
- Excellent battery life
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
tomshardware[9]
Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)There's no software to adjust the audio, but the MacBook Pro doesn't need it. Apple sells the 16-inch MacBook Pro with a one-year warranty and 90 days of complimentary tech support. The base model is $2,399.00 with a 2.6 GHz, six-core, 12-thread Intel Core i7 CPU.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Strong performance
- Long battery life
Cons
- No upgradeable RAM or storage
- No Thunderbolt 3
trustedreviews[10]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The MacBook Pro is the perfect laptop for media professionals who need a device for demanding media tasks such as video editing, animating and 3D modelling. There’s simply no other laptop that can challenge the performance and display quality. Sidecar is a clever way of extending your Mac's display onto an iPad, either by a cable or Wi-Fi. Catalina brings iPad apps to the Mac, though don’t expect all your favourites to be here.
Pros
- Superb performance
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent speakers
Cons
- No SD card slot
- No Thunderbolt 3
