cameralabs[1]
Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)Set the camera to 4k and you can film uncropped footage oversampled from 6k’s worth of data in 24 or 25p, or you can opt for 30p which incurs a mild crop. 4k video is available at 60 or 100Mbit. There may be no 4k above 30p, nor any 10-bit recording internal or external – all of which is available on the Fujifilm X-T3.
Pros
- Superb autofocus
- Long battery life
- Excellent image quality
Cons
- No AF joystick
- No 4k above 30p or in 10 bit
- No built-in stabilisation
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)Real-Time Tracking and Real-Time Eye AF also work great in video mode. The A6600 records 4K HDR video with 2.4x oversampling to capture better sharpness. The 24MP sensor itself may not be any better than the A6500's, but the new autofocus means you'll get better results in both stills and video.
Pros
- Fast autofocus
- Excellent image quality
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Pricey for a full-frame camera
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)The a6600 has a stabilized image sensor, absent from the a6400. It's got a much better autofocus system, very strong battery life, and improved video options. The best Sony APS-C camera may be the full-frame a7R IV, which offers 26.2MP of resolution.
Pros
- Class-leading autofocus
- Excellent image quality
- Strong battery life
Cons
- No in-body flash
- No stabilization
sonyalpha[4]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)The A6600 is the high end APSC camera from Sony with sensor stabilisation, excellent AF and 4K video with Slog profile. But the camera is quite small and does not allow to plug a lot of video accessories. Cages and handles can greatly help when doing video. In this review we will review 3 solutions from SmallRig.
Pros
- Very well designed and is meant to be fixed permanently, (as you removed the original strap holder)
- Cages and handles can be used to install a Magic Arm to support your smartphone or a external screen
- Very easy to install
Cons
- No cable support on the top part
- Can’t flip the back screen
t3[5]
Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)24.2MP sensor is the same as found in the a6400, so we shouldn't expect too much in the way of surprises when it comes to image quality. Inbuilt image stabilisation gives you the option to shoot at slower shutter speeds and lower ISOs than before. Animal Eye AF is very useful, but it's a little annoying having to manually switch between human and animal eyes in the main menu. Battery life is one of the key improvements when comparing the A6600 with the A6400.
Pros
- Excellent image quality
- Inbuilt image stabilisation
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No UHS-I SD card slot
- Touch-sensitivity not fully integrated
techradar[6]
Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sony A6600 has something of a split personality. It's capable of producing some excellent shots, with very useable and useful autofocus and tracking capabilities. There's also a lot to be said for its burst-shooting capabilities, and for the battery life, which is pretty remarkable for a mirrorless camera. However, using the camera can be a frustrating experience, thanks to the A66000's various handling quirks.
Pros
- Excellent image quality
- Excellent autofocus and tracking
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No in-body image stabilization
tomsguide[7]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The a6600 matches the a6500's shooting speed (11 frames per second) in continuous mode. The camera even has eye AF in video (though only for humans) Sony has replaced its kludgy PlayMemories app with Imaging Edge software. It's a worthy new flagship for Sony's APS-C line of mirrorless cameras.
Pros
- Fast autofocus
- 5-axis 5-axis in-camera stabilization
- Excellent image quality
Cons
- Lack of image metadata
trustedreviews[8]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Sony A6600 shares so much in common with its predecessor, the A6400, that significant savings can be made if you’re willing to compromise a little. Having a single UHS-I card slot, average (at best) screen and mediocre handling all make other cameras such as the Nikon Z50-T4 easier to recommend.
Pros
- Great image quality
- Excellent autofocus
- Good battery life
Cons
- Lack of built-in image stabilisation
