Articles on Iiyama
Est. 1972 in Japan
History
Iiyama is a brand of LCD computer monitors owned by the Mouse Computer Corporation from Japan. Originally founded in 1972, Iiyama used to be a major supplier of CRT TV and monitors. While it introduced LCD monitors in the late 1990s, Iiyama could not manufacture LCD panels. The deteriorating technology and market environment led to its bankruptcy, upon which the brand was purchased.
Today, Iiyama still markets monitors, including desktop PC monitors. Unlike how it was in the CRT days, however, Iiyama monitors are no longer premium products. They can frequently be found in discount stores and supermarkets.
